Going Deeper with the Message In the wake of an historic election, we know that there are many voices in our world we can choose to listen to. There are voices that will paint fabulous pictures of the way they think our country should be run; there are other voices that will create a contrasting picture; there are voices that cry out for peace and justice; and there are voices that simply plead to be heard. Our lives, like our country, require that we make choices about who we listen to and who we choose to follow. Every action we take and every word we speak tells the world around us about who we are and what we believe. People may hear echoes of our parents in our lives, or they may see shadows of community or world leaders in our actions. Jesus, the great shepherd, invites each one of us to listen for his call and to follow where he leads. He offers a place of compassion, care and abundant life. Who are you listening to this week? And who will you choose to follow?
