Going Deeper with the Message In the summer 2010 season, it cost $48.99 a day to ride Thunder Run in Wonder Mountain at Canada’s Wonderland in Ontario. It costs US$101 a day to visit Space Mountain at Disney Land in California. Have you noticed that when companies have something they think a lot of people want to be part of they will put a premium price on participation? Today we hear about God’s mountain – a place where all people, from all nations, are welcome. There is no admission price and the invitation to attend is open to any and all who want to come. God’s radical hospitality means that we may encounter some unexpected companions on our journey, people we may have seen as enemies or strangers. But God’s hospitality includes all. As we seek the manger this Advent Season, are you ready for the journey to the stable? You have been invited to find the Christ Child, to experience the hope he brings to our lives and our world, and to know that, like God’s holy mountain, there is always room for one more in the stable. |
